NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
                                            
The Mackay Athletics Club Inc. will hold its Annual General Meeting on
Saturday 30th November 2024 commencing at 11.30am at the ATHLETICS MEETING ROOM, MACKAY AQUATIC & RECREATION COMPLEX,193 BOUNDARY ROAD, ORRALEA.  Sandwiches / finger food and refreshments will be provided, and we invite all club members and families along.  Attending the meeting does not mean you need to take a position on the committee.

BUSINESS
1)    To receive and present the associations audited financial statement for the year ended 30th September 2024
2)    To receive the Club Presidents Report for 2024
3)    To elect the Club Management Committee for 2025
4)    General Business


Dear members and families.
Details of the clubs Annual General Meeting are below.  Over recent years, we have bought in systems to make committee roles easier including electronic recording which is a big time saver for the club.   As always, we appreciate our club volunteers who give up some personal time to benefit our members and sporting community.   We ask that current members / families consider some of these positions to help with achieving the club's objectives. Keep in mind that the club can't operate if the main roles don't get filled.

2025 COMMITTEE POSITIONS

All positions become vacant at the 2024 AGM and all parents/carers of 2024 members and 2024 adult members, may nominate for a position on the committee.  All positions are voluntary. 

A member may hold more than one position however the President, Secretary and Treasurer must be different people.  Generally, the committee meets once a month in season or when required out of season. 

Nominations and/or general business items are to be received to the secretary no later than Thursday 21st November 2024.  Nominations can be taken from the floor during the AGM if no written nomination is received.  If you are unable to attend the AGM and would like to nominate for a position, please email us back with the position. 

If you would like to know more about the club committee and positions, please give us a call on 0466 383 190.  Not all 2024 committee members are available for re-election only some of these roles are being recontested by existing members.  The brief role details as below are not limited to just those functions. 

  • President (Provide the principal leadership and responsibility for the organisation)
  • Secretary (Carries out or delegates the administrative duties that enable the club and its members to function effectively)
  • Treasurer (Responsible for the financial supervision of the Club)
  • Vice- President (Shadow the President in providing leadership and responsibility for the organisation)
  • Registrar, Results & Records (Maintains membership, club event results and records)
  • Equipment Officer (Maintains and organises equipment for club events)
  • Publicity & Social Media Officer (Use of media to support and drive the achievement of many of the club’s goals and objectives)
  • Uniforms (Procurement, stock management and sales of all clothing, apparel and merchandise sold by the club)
  • Coaching Coordinator (Arranges coaching opportunities for its members)
  • IT Officer (The upkeep of the shared document file system and website and email systems)
  • General Committee Member   (This position can have more than one person elected to the role)
